Winning a scholarship to attend the National School so Salesmanship in England marked the beginning of my careers in Business in Rotorua. In 1981 I bought Star Appliances and grew the business from the ground up learning many valuable lessons along the way. Other opportunities to build successful businesses included a Video Store, Office Equipment Company and Monkey Joes Bar all of which have been on sold during my 25 years including Star Appliances in May 2006. My experience is wide ranging from negotiating, marketing, team building and industry innovation to system development, problem solving, communication and relationship management. This is all backed up by units studied in Accounting and Commercial Law. My efforts have not gone un-rewarded with many accolades including: - Finalist - Retails Store of the Year 2004 - Winner - Best NZ Appliances Retailer 2003 - Winner - High Flyers Award, Central Region (F&P) - Runner Up - Customer Choice Award 2001 and 2002 (Rotorua Business Awards) - Winner - Customer Choice Award 1999 (Rotorua Business Awards) - Winner - Fisher and Paykel Dealer - Best NZ Marketing 1997 - Most Professional Business in NA 1996 - Appliance Guild. My move to Commercial Real Estate was prompted by a desire to share my experience, skills and knowledge to work closely with clients to identify opportunities that may move them closer to achieving their life goals.
